talking of midfielders as i said earlier alonso is our main target, forget about mancherro, not only too costly but also raw as far as europe is concerned
also talking of midfielders awalezelin we dont play in a system which employs a midfield playmaker, so forget about the names u suggested, n welcome to this forum

Never heard of a Player called Mancherro?? Confused Is he a new signing for us?

As far as alonso is concerned , you should forget about him. He has said he Loves Liverpool and will stay with us , what with the new Takeover with increased funding to Buy more World Class players.

come on m8 u know it was a typo error Laughing

nyway i remeber reading a alonso interview in which he said he is hounered that barca r showing n interest in him
though he also said that he was extremely happy at pool

but the part of interview that did raise my hopes was when he mentioned that he will think about the future only at the end of the season-- SO...
n talking of the argentine if i am right he has yet 2 make his debut at pool hasnt he???

He started the match , I believe... He was pretty ordinary In the first half but he came Into his own In the second half , making some crucial Interceptions and spraying the ball around. His only drawback seems to be a lack of pace , but then again , there arent many quick DM's around , are they? Wink

yeah, they are talking about Mascherano. A typo if you had read the posts farther up.

Quote:
dont care...we can afford him.....and btw we havent sign any big signings for couple of years now....so,it is due..... cudnt agree more with you FIZ..i wud love to see alves play at barca

fiz,as far as strikers are concerned i dont agree with you...we need a back up striker for etoo who is a goal scorer...i know abt all abt Krikic ...but we should not rush him and santos is not a goal scorer we are lacking in the absence of etoo...we have a lot of creaters...messi,ronaldinho,guddy,guily,may be santos next year..but we need an outright goal scorer like etoo.......trezeguet wud be a dream because of his pace....but will he come to barca to sit on the bench...i dont think so....D.Milito or forlan are most likely targets...and ezquerro, saviola going the other way....

as far as DM is concerned ...i agree masecherano is a much better bet than alonso......because we dont need passing skills of alonso..we need a player who can sit in front of center backs and protect them...having said that i think masecherano is not able to adjust with european game...and it will be a big gamble.....or correct me if i am wrong...So,David Albeda who has having contract trouble with Valencia wud be an ideal signing...

So we in agreement over Daniel Alves.

I still have my doubts over bringing in another striker, I know that with Saviola likely on his way out and Ezquerro on the way out as well after not really accomplishing anything at Barca. Then we do need a replacement, even if its just one player to come in and do the business for us.

There are many options in this department. There is Palacio, 25 yrs old, Argentine, we have been linked with him, most recently in January. Would take something like 18 million euros to bring him to the club. I dont know whether that is the right move for us as a club, however Messi has expressed his admiration for Palacio. The most important thing about Palacio, is that he is clinical and lightning fast, that would quite literally give us a direct replacement for a crocked Eto.

There are other options, I still fancy Adriano, and with him on his way out of Inter. If ever there were a time to strike, then that time would be now.
He is fast, powerful and has a lethal left foot. He has been improving after a long slump, which really started before the World Cup. He grabbed two assists over the weekend for Inter so things are going in the right direction for him.

Then there are all the thoroughly discussed options, Forlan, D.Milito & Trezeguet. Honestly, if I could pick one, then I would pick Adriano no doubt. I just think that he is going to pick his best game out of his locker next season, and why not capitalize on that? I definately think that with these options available he is the most justifiable option. Hands Down.

Buying out of form , washed out strikers is not going to help your cause. yeah , adriano has Improed a Lot but he is not the same Adriano , who was touted to be next big thing in World Football , anymore...

yeah...they say he was very good in managing egos of these big players.....and it doesnt surprise me that after his departure we have heard rumours abt so many drifts in the team....but i dont think there is any chance of him coming back....he got a promotion..and no,i think coaching AJAX.....so,coming back to barca wud be a backward step for him....

I dont think adriano is a good option at all.......i think he is also famous to have a short fuse and he has been really inconsistent after his big move to Inter and have long periods when he remains out of form......
Palacio would be ideal.....seen a bit of him......but the problem is that hi will be very very expensive and will he come to barca to sit on the bench....

Anyways, saviola and ezquerro will move is a forgone conclusion....than we have maxi lopez on loan....i think we shud extend the loan because he hasnt done anything to demand his place back at barca.....we wud basically have only 1.5 strikers etoo and guddy in the squad...and that is not gud enuf...of course ronnie can play in the middle but it is a kind of patch work...and the difference is all to see of patched barca and complete barca with etoo there....

I think there is nothing wrong with the partnership between Marquez and Puyol. The fullbacks needs to be changed but what i think Barca are lacking now is a full fledged world class defensive midfielder to execute the Makalele role. With that, i think Barca can really be an almost perfect team. De Rossi looks like a good choice to play behind the back 4. Barca have always been left exposed to counter attacks this season so a good and disciplined DM is needed. A Gattuso like player should do the job.

Funny you should mention him, I just heard a whisper that Barca are looking at him as a possibility. And we supposedly offering Edmilson and Thiago Motta for him. That would be an ideal move for us. I think both players are on their way out of Barca anyway, why not get a hold of one of the top defensive midfielders in the game, Daniel De Rossi.

There is another option, he is currently a Sevilla player, and I did mention him a long time ago in the old forum. Christian Poulsen he has been solid for Sevilla this season, he is a cracking defensive midfielder, with the ability to keep the ball moving while also possessing a decent shot. Good option.

Lemme Clarify , De Rossi is not an out and Out defensive Midfielder at all. He is your Typical english , Box to Box Midfielder , somewhat Similar to Essien.

As For Gattuso , I think if he does Leave milan , he'll probably go back to rangers , the club that made him what he is. He has openly pledged to teh Rangers fans that his Next move will be Back to the IBrox...
