This is Silvia from Italy!
First of all, I�m so incredibly happy to hear you�re doing better, that�s great news!!
There�s not much to say in situations like this one, but I really need to tell you this: I admire you, I really do, because everybody is capable of telling that they are disgusted by violence, but then, when actual violence takes place right in front of their eyes, most of them just ignore it.
I know that very well, my friend was robbed in front of my eyes and left lying on the street and when I screamed for help, NO ONE came out of their houses... so yeah, I admire you for being so brave, even though in the end you had to pay a very high price for it.
I�m so proud of being your fan right now, because you proved you are not only a great bassist, but also a great human being, which, in my opinion, is much more important� almost everyone can learn to play, but you can�t learn to be a kind person, you just have to be one of them.
I hope you�ll get well soon, in the meanwhile never forget you�re in the thoughts of all of your fans, a group of people I proudly belong to!

Matthew,

I had the privilege of interviewing you last year at the NJ Warped Tour stop. I will always remember that interview because it is still one of my favorite interviews that I have done. You were my first (of many) interviews of the day and my first face to face interview since I started working for Pop Culture Madness. Needless to say, I was a little nervous, but as soon as I started talking with you I felt relaxed and the interview went great. You were so nice, friendly and personable that it was just like talking to a friend. At the end of the interview you even gave me a hug. You were able to put me in a great mood to start off a very crazy busy day and I will never forget it.

Just by my brief encounter with you, I could tell that you were a great guy. So when I found out about what you did to try and help that woman being abused, I was not surprised because you were such a nice guy when I met you. Matthew, you are a real life hero and the world really could use more people like you. I hope you are able to make a full recovery so you can get back to making music like you love to do. I hope that I will get the opportunity to talk with you again someday. I wish you the best and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. <3

I was going through a rough time when i heard the news of what happened to you, and although being very upset, your courage gave me a sense of security in my own worries. It made me realise as Nathan said although there are many evil people in the world, many more people are amazing. I found confidence in your bravery and however damaged you have become from this incident, you will pull through stronger and with the knowledge you did what was right. I have never admired another person more than i admire you. From the first day i heard of Madina Lake i knew this band would teach me things i couldn't imagine and show me how to live. You, acting probably without a second thought has taught me how to always do what you think is right. As i usually let things pass to easily.

If there were more people like you, the world would be a better place.
And i most certainly wish to follow you in your courage and stregnth, I shall be giving Nathan presents for you in August(:

Keep your chin up and get better, the shows won't be the same without you.

I am still shocked at what happened to you, I still can't believe people out there can be such arrogant f**ks. Sorry about the language :S
It was good to find out the other day that you were aloud home, and I hope that your surgery is succesful and goes well.
You have a lot of worried fans over here in the UK, a few of them have been keeping me updated on how you are doing via text as I have been away from the computer
I don't think I can say much more, I am completely useless at writing things haha. I hope you get better very soon and I can't wait for that day when we get the message that you are 100% better Im sure alot of creeps will agree with me
When you are well enough to come back to the UK I will be there to give you a big hug I havnt met you yet so will have to be done
I can't wait.

Dearest Matthew,

Here by I�d like you to know that even in the Netherlands people are shocked by this news.
I truly believe you�re a hero and people should be more like you.
My thoughts, love and positive energy are all out to you hoping that it will help you to recover.

I do want you to understand that Madina Lake has helped me, and a lot of other fans, through rough times, and now, the fans and I, are here to help you [and Nathan, Dan and Mateo] through these rough times.
I am proud to have a Madina Lake tattoo, because it�s now related to a hero, and that means a lot to me.

All I wanted to say is that I love you for being such an amazing, great guy, who will help anyone in trouble, even if the chance is big that he�s getting beat up.

I�m not even sure what to say, to be honest, haha. You�re such a lovely person, and you honestly didn�t deserve this. You are a true hero, and I honestly mean it. You may not have saved the woman being beat, nor did you save your own life very well, you�ve saved so many other lives without having to get hurt too bad. You and your music have honestly helped me through the hardest times I�ve been through. I hope I can give you something in return, hopefully helping YOU through a hard step in your life, because this must be one.
Haha, I�m not sure why I keep writing, but I really want to be able to say something to you, but now I�m babbling. Honestly, I hope you�re okay, and I wish the best on your recovery, and I cannot wait until you decide to next visit the UK, because we miss you an awful lot! I mean it!

Matthew, where do I start,

lets see, you've inspired many people including myself, you took many people's dreams and made them reality, thats the reason why you are our inspiration. What happnened to you shocked everyone and changed many people, it may have been a bad thing, but on one hand it was a good thing, meaning you brought people together, you showed what it was like to help someone and truly be a hero. It may have left you in the worst condition, but what you did for that woman, you did for all of us river creepers, you helped her and you helped us. Matthew I would just like to say thank you, thank you for all your hard work, belief and inspiration. My heart goes out to you, your family, friends and everyone that is by your side all the way..

Matthew, let me start by saying you are such an amazing, talented, and wonderful person. As many people have said, you are a true hero.

You have inspired me more than you know with your music, your kindness, and your courage in this recent event. Each time I have met you, you have always been incredibly nice and caring towards myself, and other fans. When I read what happened I was shocked. Shocked and angry that someone would do something so terrible to someone as nice as yourself. You risked everything just to help a random person on the street and that just shows what a wonderful person you really are. I have prayed for you everyday since and I will continue to pray for you throughout your recovery.

i cant express my admiration for what you did last week, such courage. when i was younger you inspired me to learn bass guitar, im sure you've inspired many more by what you did to try and help that woman. in that one act you stood up for what is right, and defying wrong. there should be more people like yourself in this world.

You have this uncanny ability to light up a cloudy day when you smile and say hello. I experienced this myself back on the Warped Tour line up last year in Burgettstown, PA. This is why when I had heard that you had been injured, I bawled. I bawled like a little baby.

I told my friend and he suggested that I should send you "get-better waves". He claims they are like radio waves that come from a tower that is apparently on top of my head. I haven't found the tower yet, but I've been sending out get-better waves like nobody's business. I hope you can feel them.

Your courage is inspiring, and your strength is amazing. You are powerful and wonderful and I'm so happy to hear that you are recovering and regaining your energy. You deserve all the good health in the world for what you've done and what you've been through.

There are not even the right words in any language that could tell you how much of a hero you've always been to so many of us. This act of courage is no exception to your list of heroic acts. Stay strong, dude, because you keep me strong. <3

This has been tough not only to do this letter but also to find it hard to imagine something like this had happened to you. I had a lot of different emotions when I herd what happened. I am so thankful that your still here with us, proud that you have made the strength to pull through and knowing that your making a good recovery makes me feel so much better. I know you will come out of that hospital being the same old you. I'm glad we've connected which has become more of a friendship but now I class you as more of a brother.

What you did my friend was being the incredible and amazing person you always were. Your not just a hero but also one of a kind, someone I look up to and a inspiration to me and you have a amazing heart and soul. You have touch so many other people around the world including myself that it just shows how amazing you and madina lake really are. My life would be totally different if it wasn't for people like you so, thank you so much for changing my life, being yourselves and the kind of guys you all are.

Since getting to know you over the past two years we have had so many great memories together and hope that will we have more to come in the future. I feel like I have known you all my life. You have been incredible, helpful and special to me. When your on stage with the rest of the guys I get this sudden powerful feeling. And when I see you smile to me whether it's in the crowd at the front or when I see you, makes me feel special inside. And I just can't thank you enough for what you have done to me... I will never forget it.

I know that your strong enough to get through this and I hope that you get plenty of rest,sleep and energy in hospital and when you return home. I know you can do this and I'm proud of you.

I imagine that you will be in good health in the next few weeks in no time.
