Yeah, uni. I really don't think I should be missing any days from the start of honours. Don't want to mess around with that haha. Also money, as I don't have a summer job as yet and chances are I still won't during jan/feb.
Gutted, because I do still really like the lineup. I just need to be a little bit responsible.
Did you see the A7x blog post explaining why they pulled out? I thought it was pretty bullshit tbh. haha. _________________

Fair enough, I'm sure your future is a little more important than a music festival as sad as that is D:
God yes, I think they must've had some insane show that needed crazy lighting or some crap (since how they demanded to play at night). And because it's daylight saving, well, it doesn't exactly get dark till like 9-9:30 at that time of the year..So no matter what, they'd clash with Iron Maiden. Their loss, cos if they think AJ will book them a headline tour, I'm thinking they're out of luck there. _________________ |

P.S. If you seriously want to sell your ticket, my friend may be keen. Otherwise she's going to go to Brisbane instead cos Thirce are her favourites haha. _________________ |

Wow this place is a ghost town these days, haven't been on for yonks. Did you manage to sell your ticket in the end? I don't think I asked.
How was everyone's Soundwave? I had a brilliant time, I'm lucky enough to say I was able to see everyone I planned to, and then some more. Woohoo! Melbourne seriously needs to sort it's weather out though, so goddamn cold! I'm sick! _________________ |

My SW was awesome =D.
Probably the best one yet, the change of venue for Sydney was a godsend. I got to see so many awesome bands. And I met Tina off her in person which was great. _________________ Hi I'm Nic =D

Yeah, I heard lots of people preferred the new venue. I was dreading the Melb one again, but I actually really appreciated all the stages bar 1+2 and the metal ones being indoors. Meant I didn't have to stand in the rain/freezing cold all day
Highlights/lowlights band-wise? _________________ |

The highlights were probably: We The Kings and Breathe Carolina.
Lows: Probably Mayday Parade, one of my favourite bands ever. They didn't really interact with the crowd or mix it up like We The Kings and Breathe carolina did...instead they just kinda played their songs and left. Like they were amazing...and I loved them and was super glad to finally see them, just they lacked that awesome stage presence.

Wow really? I was the complete opposite! I didn't enjoy We The Kings at all, Travis seemed real pretentious and douchey which really put me off. I didn't watch Breathe Carolina at Soundwave, but I saw them at their sideshow with Mayday Parade and Every Avenue. I thought they were interesting, not my kind of band though haha. Fun to dance to though. I agree with the MP thing though, I didn't like them much at SW, but they were fantastic at the sideshow.
My highlight was most definitely Foxy Shazam. I love them a million time more after seeing em live. But I was also really stoked with There For Tomorrow, The Rocket Summer and The Starting Line.
Disappointments were probably just We The Kings and Every Avenue. There were others that I didn't enjoy much, but I think it was more of a crowd thing than the bands themselves...Except there were major sound issues on stage 6 which effected Blessthefall, Protest the Hero and BMTH. BTF kept cutting out, and vocals were so hard to hear for the other two. _________________ |

I agree with every avenue. The vocalist lost me when he went on a bout how he was sooooo drunk from last night and was all "Hey watch me drink more beer!!"
I agree with there for tomorrow ! Although I didn't know the new songs they played I loved when they played death bead. The Blackout were probably another highlight, although I was staking it out in the Mayday mosh the blackout sounded really great !
IT rained in Sydney as well slightly haha, possibly not as bad as melb. I'm jealous of your sideshows =[ =[ I couldn't stay in Sydney long enough to make it to any of them..curse school and living three hours away ! _________________ Hi I'm Nic =D

Yes!! I found EA disappointing because of the way Dave was like 'oh man, I'm so drunk already' as soon as they walked on stage, and at the end of certain songs, he'd sing in a different key to the instruments so it sounded messy as. Did it at Soundwave too, so that's probably just how they do it live? Sounded BAD.
I think next year if I do sideshows, I'm going to make sure I've had enough sleep by either napping or not flying in on the same day. I was awake for 25 hours by the end of Mayday thanks to time differences. I had a guy come up to me and say 'Oh man! You're so fu.cking wasted!' after I nearly fell up some stairs haha.
I don't think it rained too badly in Melbourne, it was just really really really cold. I think it was like 15 degrees or something. Felt like winter. _________________ |
