Matthew,
It is too often that stories such as yours reach us, of good people who suffer at the hands of others as they try to do the right thing. Most have us have been told to look the other way, save our own skin, to let someone else act the hero.
But you are not an act Matthew. You are a hero. A hero not in mere name or for want of glory, but in action. You act on your personal principles of peace and bravey, they are not merely for show. Men such as you are a rarity. To know of you and to have had the wonderful opportunity of meeting you has left me with nothing but pride.
I know that you have felt in some way all the positive energy that has been generated worldwide specifically with you in mind. What you have achieved and continue to achieve is selfless.
But I beg of you now to take this time for yourself. Heal and grow stronger. So many people need you right now, most importantly your family.
You are in my prayers.
Here is to you Matthew - a true gentleman. As Ralph W. Sockman said, Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing is so gentle as real strength.
All my love,
CathyAnn
