Set is smaller so why not. It save a couple Gb of disk space.

About 42,5 Gb zip
About 36 Gb 7z
About 33 Gb 7z solid

loading from 7z is just bit slower than zip. Most people won't complain.

I'm using 80 Gb HD for mame in so called cab so space is important.

Hi mamesick,

Could you post the standalone M1FX binary up for testing?

I was looking for an alternative to BridgeM1 since that program won't open for me and I can't read the japanese error messages to debug! Wink

Right now, I'm stuck with the command-line M1.exe!

I could post the standalone M1FX.EXE but since it's designed to be launched from MAMEUIFX internally, it's usage it's like the command-line version:
M1FX.EXE gamename.

Though, you can find all you need in the MAMEUIFX installer... because you also need the M1.DLL component.

If really interested let me know and I'll attach here for you.

Here we go with a new shiny improved version of M1FX which will be available in the next 0.146 FX release:
- Hardware information about the game are now displayed.
- Elapsed time of current song is displayed.
- "Stop" button brings you back to the first available song.
Enjoy!

Uploaded a new source code with some small fixes to make M1FX compatible with the latest official MAME MinGW Compile Environment.

I've searched for a list of M1FX supported games and I couldn't find it.

So here it is for the M1XML20121126.zip, with 1919 games.

And on my system, it simply doesn't work. Playtime stays at 00:00:

Any thoughts?

Uploaded a new M1FX source which includes the new M1.DLL file to be able to parse the M1.XML in the \M1\ directory. Re-compiled from scratch the M1FX.EXE too.

My ROMs are in my MAMEUI\ROMs directory and I have all my MAME derivatives pointed to it. I am unable to get the M1FX program to play music because it only recognizes ROMs in the MAMEUIFX\ROMs directory. I read earlier in this thread that there once was a M1FX.ini file but you did away with it. I would have been able to modify that file to point to my ROMs so the M1FX program would work. But now I can't because it's no longer included. Is there anything that can be done to get it to work besides moving all my ROMs to the MAMEUIFX/ROMs directory?

The only thing would be re-implement the .INI file... But I don't think I'll do it soon. So, instead of move all ROMs... why don't you put MAMEUIFX in the same directory of MAMEUI where you have your games? It will be never in conflict with MAMEUI because now it has its own directories and its own configuration .INI files (interface.ini, gamelist.ini, etc.)

Thanks for that suggestion, but I'd rather not have to do that. I'm sure you are aware that many MAME users have multiple different MAME derivatives. So unless they happen to have their ROMs in their MAMEUIFX directory, they also will not be able to utilize your M1FX program. I just figure, you spent all that time making the M1FX program, you might as well make it so the most amount of people can enjoy it. By including the M1FX .ini file, you expand the options on how to use it for the users instead of limiting them to having to have their ROMs in a certain place. If it's not time consuming or difficult for you to re-implement the M1FX .ini file, I hope you change your mind and do so. I'm not quite sure why it was even excluded to begin with... except for the following reason "I deprecate in MAME/MAMEUI/MAMEUIFX the usage of multiple ROMS folder." But that doesn't quite make sense to me because they wouldn't have to be using multiple ROM folders because they already have their mameuifx config .ini file pointed to whatever single ROM folder they are using for all their MAME derivatives. So they wouldn't be using multiple ROM folders. I hope you reconsider... regardless, thanks for all the time and effort you've put into this project.

I'm going to do it. It will be ready tomorrow afternoon (GMT time zone). It's an easy thing to implement, no problem. I'll post here the new source code and a stand-alone package with M1FX.EXE and the needed files. So you will be able to replace the old one, set your ROMS path and verify if it works.

NOTE: you have to enter the full path without the last '\' (slash) and terminate with a ';' char. Example:
Code:
D:\MAME\ROMS;

It works here so it should be ok. Obviously a M1.INI will be included in the package but the most important thing is if the program doesn't find it, the default \ROMS\ path will be used... In any case only *one* path is allowed, not multiple ones.

I'm too good? Nah, simply your beloved coder... Razz
