All,

I have been asked by the club to set up a poll about next seasons home game night.

Would you like it to stay as the new Wednesday night, or go back to Tuesday nights.

Now is your chance to have your say, so please do so and vote on the poll here.

The club will also be asking fans at the coming home games. Any queries, please ask.

Really disappointing to see that out of 647 registered users ONLY 18 can be bothered to respond.

I am aware that not all registered users are Matlock fans and indeed most obviously dont go regularly to home games. However given that only 11 people want to change back to Tuesdays and the rest have not expressed an interest and are therefore apathethic either way I suggest we stay as we are ie Wednesdays as all local league sides play on Tuesdays usually.

Would have been nice to ask the fans at the beginning of the season wether the Tues night games should be changed to a Wed night ? Complete balls up if you ask me

I moaned and I was first to vote. As it is now that I am on a week on week of roster Tuesdays are no good to me either.

The poll completely passed me by to be honest but I'd only really vote Tuesday due to the issues with press deadlines, namely a Wednesday night game doesn't get in the Mercury and the thoughts of Mark Atkins post match also have to wait - although they can obviously get on the website.

But if Wednesday has been deemed a success then stick with it. It's all about getting more through the gate and if the averages are higher then it's been a success.

I wouldn't discard Monday as an option though. It's been a big success at Ilkeston as they avoid clashing with Derby and Forest (not such a big issue at Matlock admittedly) and the gates have almost been as high as the league games (around 500 on Mondays)

Obviously you only get a two-day gap from the weekend match but on the flip side you get longer before the following weekend.

The fact I spend my Saturdays and many midweek nights covering other teams for work purposes means I hardly get to Matlock games at all nowadays, something I miss a great deal, but it may make my opinion invalid!

People should be encouraging other people to go to watch the games - Less of the negativity please! We were all once a big part of the club whether or not we attend at the moment (for whatever our reasons) and we should not forget what part we all played in making the social club what it is today, not in-fighting!!
