After Ferriby on Tues night, I thought yes we`ll go to Telford and get some pride back . Well I`m going to ruffle a few feathers here, so some people may get upset over my comments, but I think I`m right on what I`m about to say. Started off OK. Outplayed them in the first half, one up at the interval. Then the old chestnut ? Pushed the self destruct button again! I`m afraid it`s getting very tedious, and the faithful following deserve better. Probably the joint manager who came on as sub should channel his aggression in the dressing room, to motivate the players, instead of his disgraceful behaviour, ( to those who didn`t make it, there was a brawl at the final whistle, between their no 5 & our manager ) Remember the Osset cup match ? The other joint manager sent from the touchline. No discipline ! We are at stalemate & probably the management should consider their position at the club ? |

I've not been at the game today but a quick look through the fixture list tells me that it's the eighth time we've been ahead in a game this season and gone on to draw or lose it.
What that can be put down to is anyone's guess, but it's something that Messrs Grip and Brown need to address quickly and it's certainly a test of their managerial credentials.
I saw comments from Gripper this week bemoaning the squad's lack of inconsistency. A fair point, but inconsistency has been the problem for the last season and a half.
Last season, and this, has shown that the players are as likely to push a team from a higher division all the way as lose to someone like Staveley (no disrespect intended to Staveley), and that is a problem that those in charge have got to show that they are capable of solving.
On another note, remember the referee from the FA Cup game against Ossett Town? He was our fourth official at Pride Park this afternoon, but I didn't get chance to give him all the best regards of everyone from Matlock! |

Yup consistency is the key, and we sure dont seem to have any at the moment!
Maybe we should just play the first half, im sure that would put us right up by the playoffs!

Sounds like no-one is particularly upset by Big Johns comments.
I have to agree to a certain extent. I make that 5 sendings-off now this season. Apparently Clarkie was unlucky at Blyth but none of the dismissals have come from what I would call proper football. They have all been the result of red mist/petulance/whatever.
It's no wonder we can't be consistent if we've got suspensions all the time. Time for an Anger Management course at the Lane! |

| Many thanks on your agreement on my comments Mr Equaliser, but my comments were aimed mainly on the lack of discipline in the managerial area, not on the players behalf. My question is, when the players see the management reacting like they have in previous games, what does this instil into their game. The discipline begins at the very top & obviously this has not been the case so far. I for one should like to hear from someone on the committee, on what their views are on this ? |

PERSONAL OPINION here:
Grip should have known better, since apologised, but still very disappointing.
Think his desire to do well got the better of him-he ain't the first and won't be the last. in footie to fall foul of the law in this way Hope its the last time he does this while with us though, and he learns from this. |
