Looking back I maybe went a bit over the top and I apologise to the team for that but it’s because I know how many really good players we have.
What happened Saturday has been and gone and now we have to prepare for the visit of a good Chasetown side Wednesday. |

Everybody connected with the club was disappointed yesterday but let's just remember a few things.
It's the first game of the season, there's 41 matches left to play!
We had five players making there debuts, seven if you include the returning players Simon Sturdy and Ian Holmes. It's going to take a bit of time.
Ashton's never an easy place to go to.
We've got an excellent squad of players with some real quality.
The league once again is very tough and every side is going to get a few bad results along the way but surely its important for everyone to stick together. _________________

Oh and yeah if you want your money back see me Wednesday
I'll give you it . |
I hope this isn't the assistant manager Nick Buxton, getting involved isn't a good idea, Supporters are entitled to their opinions and he should be big enough to take the criticism. And if the game was bad they wouldn't of known that before they went and suggesting they shouldn't bother going is stupid! |

Why is there 43 games left? Are there 23 teams in the league this year?Where was Algar? He's better than Mallon and Bowler on the left, he is class!
I heard from someone via someone that Matlock played okay and dominated the game. But then on here I get a different verdict. I know Ashon didn't pull up any trees last season but they started last season very well and hardly conceded in their first 10 odd games. If they're starting the same way again then it was always gonna be a bit difficult once going behind. I hear the defence was 'frail'. Wasn't it just a case that we were getting exposed gambling more men forward to try and get back into it or was there a lot of poor marking?
Anyway looking forward to Wednesday and confident we will play well. |

Not the best of starts, but a long way to go!
Ashton have always been a bit of a thorn in our side, we never seem to do well at thier place.
Hoping for a better result on Wednesday.
