Whilst 5 wins from last 11 games would be nice we certainly won't need this many to stay up as Mickleover Whitby and Buxton would need to hit championship winning form to achieve 51 points !
More likely 3 wins will do or possibly 2 with a few draws. Should be achieved with the likes of Burscough Whitby and Buxton still to play and there is always an unexpected win somewhere along the way?
Reasonable point tonight |

Thanks for the updates, personally I would see this as a point gained and think that 3 wins will be enough to keep us clear of the relegation zone.
To be honest there has been little to aim for since our league cup exit and its important that we keep competing as many of the teams we have yet to meet will have something to play for one way or another. So a point away from home is welcome. |

| Five wins would assure safety no matter what the teams under us do. |

An odd game really, went went into the half time break all quite positive after a resonable first hlaf performance.
Holmesy weak shot was really should have been dealt with by the Ferriby defenders, and at the very least the keeper should have made an effort to save.
Second half we never came out, cant honestly think of one shot the keeper had to save, the best chance was a Holmes cross come shot. Whilst Ferriby didnt pull up to many great shakes, you could see them getting a goal due to the ammount a pressure they had.
A point gained as John C said, but will it be enough to build on? Hopefully

Hello long time poster, occasional watcher here.
Well that was worth the trip wasn't it. I remember why I don't bother.
I think it's time for a freshen up. First half was ok but the second half we looked like the allotment next door "a bunch of cabbages" I don't like criticising the players or manages but we have a good squad but something isn't working. Is it time for a change? _________________ Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |

I think we do, or let me put it another way I think we have some good players but we don't play like a good team _________________ Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |

I'd have to agree with you, plenty of good individuals but not a good team and the fact we have the second lowest goal total in the league says a lot. |

Like last year at this time we are a couple of players short of having a side that can consistently compete with the top half dozen in this league. Myself I'd go for someone who can impose themselves in midfield and a quality striker. Easier said than done though, particularly at this stage of the season.
Although I agree that things could do with a bit of 'freshening up' I certainly don't think a change in management is needed. Consider where we were when Mark Atkins took over, contemplating a rather flat end of an uneventful season is better than being in the midst of a relegation fight. |

I reckon that actually we still have 12 games to play and need to pick up a few wins soon - don't want the Easter Monday game at Buxton to develop into a ' 6 pointer'.
A draw at North Ferriby is a good result though and things will look a lot brighter at ten to five on Saturday with a home win. _________________ Prediction league champ 2009/10 but it was a fluke |

| I dont think we need such a drastic change as in management, like John C says when he took over we were certainties to go down and he galvanised the squad. I personally feel that he has been let down by the players he has brought in, some of which are 'proven' players at this level. We have let players go for whatever reason to accomodate these new lads and some of them just haven't performed well enough. I think a summer clear out may be in order but until then mark has to show faith in what he has as good players are not available at this time of year |

I expect another six points will be enough to ensure safety. | waitey wrote: | don't want the Easter Monday game at Buxton to develop into a ' 6 pointer'.
| Don’t worry. Last year we ruined their play off push and this year we will have the ultimate pleasure of relegating them. |

I agree with Vlad in that changing the manager will achieve little and that Mark has been badly let down by the older players brought in / brought back.
Several dont seem fit enough or don't appear to have the heart for a battle. Our better players this season are our younger ones ie King Yates Algar who have the legs to get about the pitch.
With Matlocks limited budget our best chance of success would seem to be to unearth and develop young talent alongside a few seasoned older players.
Problem at moment is that Mark seems more comfortable bringing in the older pros like Bettney Bowler etc and letting the young uns go like Turner Knowles etc
I think Mark should use his experience to develop young talent and as Vlad says use the close season to clear out some dead wood |
