McMahon in debut heaven.
Matlock Town 1-0 Rushall Olympic
Lewis McMahon scored a debut pen in the closing stages.
Rushall had a player sent off for an elbow!
-------------------------------
It’s being a long time since singing was heard at the ground from Matlock but today the whole stand was singing in harmony.
The players worked hard and showed a passion that has being missing recently and it's a great three points that was deserved.
Brilliant debut by loan signing Lewis McMahon and Laurence Gaughan really impressed in the heart of defence. |

I missed the Peno due to leaving a bit early to catch my bus, we should have been atleast two nill up.. and The number 3 on the right should have been sent off.. Frustrating ..
Anyway, it was nice to meet you today _________________ Im a 19 Year Old College Student.. Been watching football since i was 7, needed something to do on Weekends, thought i'd watch Town, hooked.. Now im going every week.. |

Matlock deserved to win today. Second half performance was good. Rushall number three at every set piece had two arms around Nightingale even the linesman drew this to the attention of the referee who chose to ignore this every time afterwards.
On another day Matlock could easily have won this more comfortably with their goalkeeper making a fine save from a free kick and a little more composure in front of goal. _________________ Prediction League Champion 2006/2007 and 2010/2011 runner-up 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 although I don't like talking about it.

First half
2nd half a lot better, we started to pass the ball around a lot more and created plenty of good chances. Their keeper played a blinder and it could have easily been 3 or 4. Fortunately justice was done when the ref awarded the clear penalty.
How could any one argue that that was not hand ball? Oh of course we were playing Rushall who continually fouled and then proceeded to whinge and moan. They could have had 3 sent off for the second time this month.
Is that positive enough for the opinion police?

Looking forward to the final game of the season there it could be fun.
Agreed the first half was dull but we did not concede which was important. _________________ Prediction League Champion 2006/2007 and 2010/2011 runner-up 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 although I don't like talking about it.

| First half was a case of job done. We prevented them from making the most of the strong wind giving us a good base to go on and stretch them in the second half. Not great from an entertainment point of view but we could even have been in the lead with a great save from their keeper just on half time. (Pea nice to see you are following the instruction that I gave you at the bottom of Snitterton Road) |

Striker!!!!
We get a decent striker in (few months to late), and success, nothing to do with the lack of passion all these lads have passion they just needed something to work with up there.
Some great football played again Algar Lewis and Davies linked up brilliant.
Lawrence looks like a real good player in the making.
We did a superb job in the first half with the wind and finished them off in the second. The confidence is back again.
Super lads |

The only disaponting matter to come out of yesterday is the fact that McMahon is only with us for a month, if we manage to get him in permanently then it would be another great bit of business by Mark.

Good footage once again.
Great to see us finally picking up a vital 3 points, it dont matter when you score them if you do! Didnt really look like a sending off, but maybe something the camera did show.

great 3 good points, well earned. just a few points we looked better once davies moved in to midfield and bettney came on to give us more width and better balls in 2 the box. would start with tj to give us more pace up front, holmes seems to have hit a bad patch. still need 3 or 4 new faces in but know thats easy said. good to see gra pushing the pram |

I’d like to see us sign McMahon permanently and bring in another striker.
Just to add that it was great to see Gra taking in the game yesterday! |
