Hey all, good to be on the forum.
I've been browsing this board for some time now, seems like I've read every single post on clone building, lots of good info here. I have a Bradley Digital I've been playing with for 3 or 4 years now, looking to step it up a little and build a Stumps clone. I basically smoke for my family and small groups of friends.
Looks like a great group of people here willing to help and answer questions of any kind.
Cheers,
Russell from Weyburn |

Hey Russell, good to meet you and welcome to the forum! I think you're the first forum member from Weyburn... hopefully there are some more lurkers down in that corner of the province. |

Welcome to the forum Russel. I make the trip to Weyburn at least a couple of times a year. Brother and sister in law live strait east of town about 5 miles. Let us know if there is anything you need help with on your project. Are you planning on building it yourself? |

Thanks guys, good to meet you too.
Jim, I was planning on building the clone myself, I have all the equipment and skills needed, but just no time. I am self employed and as such I tend to work myself 6 and 7 days a week.
I've been wanting to build for many months and just can't seem to find the time and I am growing impatient.
Need to smoke now. |

Just a suggestion as a real time saver, once you get the frame built take some real good accurate measurements for the inner skin and the outer skin and have a sheet metal shop cut and brake for you. This will eliminate a ton of welding and grinding and make the job look that much more professional. IF and I say IF I decide to build another smaller clone I will be following this advice for sure. What type of self employment are you in? |

Light duty diesel performance/repair and I also manufacture steering upgrades for Dodge trucks.
I'm like the carpenter that never did get those baseboards put on his own house after he changed the carpet.
Just no time to spend on my own sht after an 80 hour week, but, if someone come thru the door wanting a smoker built we'd probably do it.
Funny how I found the time to read thru 300 complete threads here tho. |
