I’m not aware of any pitch inspection planned at the moment but if I hear of one then I’ll update.
MTFC TV will be filming.
UPDATE - Not heard anything at all so I presume the game is on. |

Matlock 0 2 Ashton. WTF Not much has changed since the opening day of the season then. Now just 7 point clear of RELEGATION.
Ashton had one win away in the last ten games before today, and that was against the mighty Burscough who just happen to be bottom of the league.
Must have had another of those sh1t refs again I guess
I await the considered views of those who can see the truth.
Could we approach Bradford and ask if Ross is available for a loan period to help him stay sharp and save our club from the drop? |

We lost the game in the first ten minuets and even though we had two goals disallowed and missed a pen, we didn’t deserve anything from the game.
The only encouraging signs were Harry Winter who I thought looked good and Liam Wilkin who came on for the last 15min and frightened Ashton’s defence every time he ran at them. |

We need to find our own up and coming players.
A few more like Yates would be good, or that Ben Turner at Sheffield FC
Is there anyone at Carlton who we could try and tempt to Causeway Lane, they are on fire at the moment having scored 15 goals in the last 2 games.
Wrong time of the year really due to a lack of games but would some scouting at lower league clubs in mid week be a better option than another friendly?

Of which I agree and we have signed two players one who debuted today and one who didn’t down to international clearance. |

Matlock dominated this game and were unfortunate that the referee did not dissallow both of the Ashton goals which went in from distance into the top corner. The officials then chose to cancel two Matlock goals and taking into account a penaly missed when two Ashton players encroached into the area then Matlock as you will see should have won the game.
The pitch was a little heavy which also went against Matlock a little today. Injuries are not helping the team and Matlock had three players booked today which seemed unfortunate as well. Matlock created situations of interest at times in addition to the cancelled goals and the unfortunate penaly miss.
Matlock should be enouraged by the performance today taking into account the difficult cirumstances detailed above and move onto North Ferriby next week who lost 7-0 to Stocksbridge today. _________________ Prediction League Champion 2006/2007 and 2010/2011 runner-up 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 although I don't like talking about it.

I am afraid Matlock seem to be a team of misfits at the moment, there is no flowing passing and all the players seem to be playing as individuals.
I don't know exactly what the answear is, on today's showing the new players (Nelthorpe and Winter) seem very ordinary. The only positive was Ben Hunter who at least did try to provide a little width when he came on as sub.
I shall not go but it is a good job we had a good start to the season because on todays showing we look a very poor side. |

Russ firstly watch out for that very cold weather in middle Europe coming our way soon!
Secondly and on a serious note we do have the fortunate situation that we do have games in hand on the bottom teams. It is not a disaster of a season yet. Yes we will have to probably scrape together 15 points from our remaining games which is possible.
Finally lets not get to serious about everything it is only football I am sure Mr Atkins and everyone connected with the club are aware of the current form situation and are doing everything they can to turn it around. _________________ Prediction League Champion 2006/2007 and 2010/2011 runner-up 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 although I don't like talking about it.

I was in Bucharest on Wednesday with a foot of snow and going to Sofia next Tuesday forecast -20.
Just hope the side can be improved vastly soon, I want to visit Causeway Lane in 2 weeks time and be entertained and not come away thinking what a waste of my time at home.
It’s like Belper G and I we were saying back in the Autumn, I think at the Chorley game, how often do you come away from the ground thinking that was a great match.
Here’s to better times ahead. |

For me the most exciting thing to watch at the match yesterday was Mick Thorpe putting up the half-time raffle numbers on the blackboard! _________________ Clitheroe Evo-Stik Challenge - Matlock Town Mini-league winner 2012/2013 and 2011/2012 |

A few things to add now I’ve seen the video again.
- Both disallowed goals were correct.
- The amount of crosses we put in that didn’t beat the first man was ridiculous
