|
Hi,
I'm a middle unit owner. Just to let you all know that due to the rain last Tues, rain got into my yard as the floor was wet when I visited my unit.
Anybody has already done up something to rain-proof your yard? Any idea to reco?
Thanks much! |

I am also form middle unit but I need to " rain-proof " my yard /AC ledge form my neighbor on top, always dripping wet cloth at AC/ ledge, and water flowing down into my yard too. I think my new A/C will die very soon and I have not move in yet . |

There is a spout outlet at the roof motor room parapet wall that pour down near the kitchen window ledge during heavy downpour. Went up to take a look sometimes back. You should be able to spot the trait of water that stain the wall.
They should do a rain water down pipe instead of spout. |

Won't la. My current aircon is exposed to the elements. 12 years already still functioning. _________________ http://www.liquidgeneration.com/quiz/images//Card_Fett.jpg

yah, AC units are quite sturdy actually. my current home's unit is placed in the balcony and always gets a full blast "rain shower". |

| A/C outdoor units are design & built to operate in such environment. So no worry. However, basic maintenance has to be look into in order to prolong the lifespan of the system. |

sure!
Yard area. It's a little dark when the blinds are drawn. It provides privacy from the outside too.
Waterproof blinds 1. You bring up the blinds by rowing the threads by the side. For the other side of the blinds behind the equipment, we don't really bring it up.
Waterproof blinds 2. At a closer look, you can see the reflective surface on the outside. It's covered with plastic so that the bamboo will not rot. In fact it is a little wet. The people upstairs washes the corridor daily and we need to close the blinds so that the water don't come splashing in. |

the lower metal wall is with holes for ventilation so we still get wind. (middle unit)
When we really want the breeze, we will bring up the blinds so no issue. |

| For the bamboo chip with plastic cover, there is a shop quoting me $4 excluding installation along Jalan Besar. It is a really old shop. But I have yet to confirm the dimension with them and get my contractor to install to save the $50. The address is No 120 Jalan besar and the name is George Bamboo Chick centre. |

I just simply put a extention pole on the top of the yard grilles .. and put the shower curtains .. *laffs* .. i close them everyday coz renovation works going on and its good in preventing dust from getting to my clothes .. when i at home than i open to let the wind comes in ..
Extention pole 1.2mtr = $5
Shower Curtain = $5.45 from NTUC ..

Wont the wind blow your shower curtains? And if it blows the curtains the yard might still get wet right, although probably not as bad as without it. |

zevth .. surprisingly .. when i close the yard door .. even with the wind, the shower curtain dont fly ... i tried a few times .. when the wind is strong .. the curtains are flying .. than i close the kitchen door ... than ok liao .. i know its not foul proof .. but at least the water dont spray too high up .. just onto the floor which will not affect my clothes .. ^_^ ..
For now .. the shower curtain is a must to prevent reno dust from dirtying my clothes hang in the yard .. ~_~ ... _________________ Rdgs/Yuki |
