Cannot recall when i last saw a full rainbow. Did missed it once when we first moved in a couple of month ago and the girls were thrilled with the sight of it!
Well today, I get to enjoy it too and it was fabulous!

| Another Great one appearing just after the rain ... and this time around, it's a double rainbow with the violet indigo colour visible at the bottom! |

| hi lavie, just for record ... did it appear during slight drizzle arnd the late afternoon between 5plus to 6plus? ... cos the 2 witnessed by me on Jan were around that timing; 1 to 2 hrs before the sun sets, shining through the light drizzle ... were really awesome even to my old bleary eyes. |

Yes!
Was quite surprised as it was raining quite heavily some minutes b4 I caught the rainbow. Agreed, quite breath taking huh? Too badd my hp camera couldn't really capture the beauty like yr pro camera did.
Wondering if there's some technical explanation why the rainbows occur in this location at the particular time? 3 rainbows at Pinnacle... already made up 30% of the rainbows I've seen in my lifetime!

Nah! ... I think I took it with my bb and it was quite a clear day with light drizzle. I think you caught the rainbow when its background was still raining "away" or hazy day ... in fact, I was cursing myself then for not owning any descent camera to capture the rainbow in full ... think it is about time to get one which has long dued in my wanting list!
Thx! for the confirmation as I've told my family to watch out for it again during light drizzle or after rain during sun setting hrs which I think the rainbow was formed by the drizzling water droplets via the river from clark quay over to some sea spot at marina bay, reflecting the sunlight from the setting sun.
Oh I did rush to clark quay and confirm ... there isn't any pot of gold at the end of it ... ermh ... or has it been taken by someone else there earlier?
I believe we will see more of it as I recalled there were much earlier posts on rainbows by fellow forumer ... with pro camera ... |

LMAO !! U figured out my thoughts about the pot of gold!
Did you see the rainbow colors all the way to the ground? Or hovering above u? Your BB is really powerful to capture the separate colors so well still. Hopefully can catch a nicer picture on my Note next time round. Just finished raining but not enough sunshine to cause refractions.
Interestingly, do you notice a 2nd fainter rainbow above the 1st one in both our pictures? This phenomena is called a double rainbow. A single rainbow with the violet color at the bottom is called a primary rainbow. If I interpreted Wikipedia's words correctly, a double rainbow is formed due to alot more refractions. I'm guessing we'll have a lot more double rainbows here due to all the tall glassy skyscrapers!
Another happy coincidence for us, I believe all those facing the city side will see more rainbows then those facing Sentosa. Again, according to Wiki, rainbows usually form in the opposite direction of the sun too. So, as u say, the perfect conditions should line up towards a bright rainy evening for a nice full rainbow in our view! |

| @lavie, Thx for the wiki-science lesson ... as for your query, I actually was able to see the end of the rainbow, all the way to the ground but chose not to report it in detail as not to startle fellow forumer reading it ... but since you are asking ... I will report what I actually saw with my daughty's bino ... it was quite weird really but I knew what I saw and nobody can take that away from me ... All I can say is ... Aliens aren't green as we all presume to be but they are actually in 6-changing colours ... there were two alien-like beings in six colours strolling out of the rainbow looking worriedly ... seems to be looking out for something and I swear I could hear one of the shorter and angrier looking one rebuking the other one whom incidentally looked like my wifey ... "Now, where did you last drop the purple colour? ... you know damn well we can't go home without it! Barney would be devastated and loose his job ... and we will be both sent to live in the black hole for being the most hated by all the children in the whole universe! ... and it's all bcos of you for wanting to drop by at Clark Quay for a stupid plate of free sushi!!!" ... ermh! sorry for wasting 3 minutes of your life ... it must be my medicine! |
