Hello guys,

I am originally from saskatchewan but now live in montana. After looking at what was out there for inexpensive offset smokers I decided for the same money spent on a silver smoker or such I could build something far more worth while.

Here are a few pictures of my pits progress:

What is the physical size of the pit? Good looking workmanship. I am sure you will be pleased with it. Especially when you take off the first Q off a smoker you built. It doesn't get any better than that.

Hey jim the pit size is 22" x 38" and the fire box is 20" x 20", 5" stack. I am liking that so far have less then $150.00 into it. Although since I have found this site I am seriously thinking of building a stums clone next, nothing huge maybe one that has 24" x 24" shelves in it.

I built the grill was actually really easy to build. I am also putting a second removable shelf in. I will have some new pictures of it up tomorrow, I did some work on it this afternoon.

Well there EGJDM, you got 475 mi to Regina and I got 430 mi. No reason not to come for a visit. Morley will have about 472 miles to Regina. Looks like Regina is fairly central to the Prairies. Hope to see you there.

Robert, with both you and Keri taking turns driving, you can be there in less than a day. See you there. Bring Steve along as well.

Corpus Christi, TX
Regina, SK CA
Total Est. Distance 2100 Mi.

Mr. E, very sweet build, It looks like all of the cuts were done by a surgeon.
Just a couple of notes, you probably are already prepared but just a review...
Image

The first 1/3 of the grill will be unusable as the heat will be to high, unless your grillin some steaks.(RED) This will waste some precious real estate on your pit. My personal recomendation is to add some "tuning" plates to encourage the heat to travel on down the line.(Green) If you wish, send a PM and I'll be more specific.

The pit has a deflector right where the firebox and main chamber meet and it has tuning plates the full length.
