Reading around at different builds. I see all different size clones built and am wondering if there has been any size ratios figured out for GF clones? Such as air inlet, fire grate, fire tube height, fire tube opening, cooking chamber size, and exhaust size. I looking at a smaller clone am thinking of sizing down by ratio. Of course air inlet is adjustable, but things such cubic inch volume of fire in the chute vs fire tube size. Any thoughts.

I would say that even though they are all a little different, there must be some tolerance. Some have bigger chutes on smaller cabinets and the other way around. Some have the grate at tube level and some have the grate lower. They all work. Some may have different characteristics like startup or recovery times but it's a great design. Just stick roughly to what you see here and you'll be fine. Wink

BTW, I had all the same questions and they told me the same thing

My cooking chamber is 36w x 24d x 48t. My tube is at grate level approximately 4 x 9 tube and it works great. But scaling down, wondering if tube, grate, or anything else should scale down.
