| It’s always a risk when the club nor councial owned the ground and with Croydon Atheltic going under and Darlington’s buyer pulling out at the last min it's proving to be an awful day for non league football. |

It makes me wonder what the lifespan of non-league football is going to be ? _________________ PREDICTION LEAGUE WINNER 2011 - 2012

I think non-league football will survive as long as:
1) people like us continue to turn up and pay our cash at the turnstiles
2) there is the commitment of the people running the club 'behind the scenes'
3) clubs live within their means.
I don't like to see any club fold but it has to be said that Northwich have been glory chasing at the expense of going bust for years (they have already been down the administration route). I suppose it was bound to catch up with them eventually if they didn't change their ways.
Other clubs have fallen prey to investors who either want to asset strip the club (usually through selling the ground for development) or use it to money launder ill gotten gains from outside the game.
A further risk is the 'benefactor chairman' who leaves the club in the sh*t when their money dries up (eg Ilkeston, Eastwood, Gretna, Colne...).
The problem, at all levels of the game, is that as long as some teams continue to try and achieve success by spending more than they can reasonably expect to earn it leaves the rest struggling to have a chance of success. Look how Matlock have to compete in a league which forever has the debtors of yesterday passing through it, some of whom it now appears have continued to spend what they haven't got. |

| I don't think the chap at Eastwood left the club in any sort of debt. The chap at Gretna fell critically ill and died so he didn't leave the club in shit by choice |

| Ps Witton Albion is within a mile I think, so Northwich fans will just have to watch them instead if Northwich fold! |

Must still be pantomime season as they have not agreed to the offer to play at the Victoria Stadium till the end of the season and the offer has now been withdrawn.
Time to kick them out of the league I am afraid in my opinion.
Part of THORS Statement...
The VICTORIA FOOTBALL STADIUM WINCHAM
Thor wishes to announce that it has now completed the purchase of the Victoria Stadium at Wincham. However, Thor is disappointed to advise that negotiations with Northwich Victoria (2007) Limited (the Club) which would have allowed the Club to use the stadium for the rest of
the season have broken down.
Thor has made every effort to assist the Club, but at the last
minute the Club changed what Thor believed to be an agreed deal and has rejected Thor’s
proposal |
