hello 2100 & any LEDs guru,

There are 4 locations intended for LEDs; under top cabinets and under lower cabinets along the console in the living rm,
along the lower platform facing kitchen and along the bed head cabinets in the MBR.

Any recomendation what colours should I go for at these 4 locations?
No worries ArielCandy, the thing is that this is easy to DIY install, just peel and stick. V easy, teenager also can do it. Just save up.

Even if your house got no coves, can do it for these areas, which all P@D units sure have.

1. Under the middle part of the living room grilles. See if you can hide the wires behind the curtains, and run it to the power plug (sure have).

2. Behind the TV. Sides and top will do.

3. Below the bedframe, use the gap as a mini cove by sticking the strip on the top part aiming at the parquet. Works well as the light hits the parquet and diffuses. (see my pictures in the earlier post of the Hubstation HD for an idea)

Custom LED penthouse. Check out the cove lights at the end. Some of the patterns are really nice, like the last 30 secs single colour localised burst. The mixed+multiple colour chasing tails are not that nice.

Not cheap, its about $240 per reel of 5m, $80 for controller. If do for all my ceiling coves with 3 controllers and PSU, that's still touching 1k with further discounts. These strips are 15mm width, every 3 LEDs controlled by 1 chip. There are single pixel addressable LED strips even...

That one is near the PC, so tap from the PC PSU 12V line. Cheap cheap implementation. Just go through the PC chassis water cooling holes or something. Intending to put a strip below the study table tap from the PC, as aux lighting and add colour to the study room. You can consider doing that.

Lost count of how many - but I think thereabouts 50m total if I really get down to buying for the TV/toilets/bed.

Intend to add some for the 2 toilets esp for my longbath area (straight down from the false ceiling). Good for mood. Tap from the 2 heater switches. Don't use sayang.
Still thinking of using 30 or 60pcs per meter type, coz 30pcs may look better there. And whether RGB or warm white stuff.
When the strips oriented vertically it might refract from the water droplets, may be nice....anyway also for mood lah.

Nice huh.

Side parallel might be nicer than all round. All round might be a bit "over"
My HD Hubstation response is just a wee bit slower than my HD Set Top Box. The LED screen flickers when recording, going back etc.... Standard lah. But it is more energy efficient than the HD STB, not very hot at all. Can leave it on most of the time.
Too ex though...I think something like S$200-250. Nice design. 9W.
But probably fun for 30 mins, then after that collect dust.

No warm white, cool white, daylight functions. Rather top up a bit like $50, get the South Korean Toplight, more than twice as bright at 20W, pretty directional light (lagi BRIGHT) and practical due to ability to do WW,CW,daylight, still got mood mode.

DIY still rules...cheaper and much more light.

Both toilets got spare switches (water heater).

Can put under the vanity cabinet, like some have put as mini coves, shine at the basic. How about RGB? Hmm..... Maybe part RGB part warm white.... Got some pillars to block the light if you view from the door, can put vertically down as well so that the +/-12V cables are visually minimal. Easy to knock through the false ceiling board and poke the thin 2-core wire or 4-core wire through, just use a nail.

If 12mm RGB width is too thick and visible, can use the small 5mm width mono colour.

I have a longbath, perhaps can run it behind me. Chromotherapy.

If you have full height glass shower screens, can even run it to the 2 holes which holds toiletries.

Any more ideas guys?
