|
|
while waiting & anticipating excitedly for our duxton to be ready, i have been thinking & sourcing around for ideas what i would be doing with my planter in the living room in future.
anyone here with planter-unit has any decoration idea to share?
recently i was walking around chinatown & came across a shop selling some stone sculptures which i find it interesting to place one by the corner side of the planter with a small water feature beside & add in some greenery & orchids. this gives a relaxing mini-garden feel to the home when you laze or gather around the living room while taking a look or glimpse out to the window from inside.
the thing is i wonder if the stone scuplture would be too heavy or not for the planter to hold. keke....
another idea is i've also thought of raising the floor in the planter & place wooden decks with some plants & orchids.
i don't think i'd like to keep the planter area empty or too messy. we couldn't get a balcony unit so the planter serves as another alternative for creativity.
really appreciate any comments. thanks |

You are supposedly not allowed to fill up the planter i believe. But lots of people will be doing it anyhow.
Anyway, i have a fren living in a private condo whom decked the planter with planks which can be opened for storage below. Of course, you can probably put only outdoor kind of things since water may seep in during rain. I am thinking of doing the same.
To me, the planter strectching across 2 rooms seem more like a narrow balcony instead. The actual balcony units are really quite small open air bay windows i find. From the dimensions listed of course, gotta see the real thing den will know for sure. |

well yeah, HF601 is right. we gotta see the real thing then decide what could further be done.
i guess maybe some might have the idea to convert the planter into a balcony which i myself have ever thought of doing so. however it's still an open idea and there's more creativity for me & my family to come up with later on when we move in.
i'm just too excited now... haha
as HF601 mentioned a friend having the planter decked with planks that can be opened for storage sounds interesting and we could store things like maybe gardening tools. |

see the differences between the east facing and the west facing unit. Both are planter. but you can see the spacing for the west facing unit's railing is denser than the EAst. Maybe the designer thought with denser railing, it can act as a screen for the western sun. I think it applied to the balcony railing as well.
Blk 1E lower floors. FAcing the cantoment road
Blk 1E lower floors facing TPCC

Fish pond sounds great! Maybe I can put those fishes that feed on our dead skin and charge people 10 bucks for 15mins of usage? _________________

Hello..
I have some artificial planters at my balcony and it looks so nice and real. The orchids are liked by so many people. The biggest advantage is you need not to water everyday any more. |
