Hi,
Saw this on the net this morning. But unable to post as in office (boss is in), so can only post now. Laughing
H800 being showcased in the CES 2011 show in USA now.
http://underground.alpine-usa.com/pulse/122
Will be released for sale this year April in USA. MSRP will be US$699.95.

Lucky they did not take out the optical input... Rolling Eyes

Actually…the connector for the H800 is again, not toslink Smile
People who already bought the W520 will know this because that HU had a digital output connector that does NOT connect to anything int he market…so people already knew Alpine would release a new processor using that proprietary connector hehe…it was kinda a dead giveaway…

Thos on the 520 could not use the 701…hence they had NO processor to use…until now…
So finally Alpine decides to officially release the H800….it was seen coming…people already knew about it…just that now it's official..

The good news, it's finally 24bit….no longer 1bit Smile

Thanks bro spinworkx. I didn't know there is an optical output connector on the W520. All along I thought there is no optical output. Thank you for the information. Embarassed
Anyway, some additional info on the processor.

Good explanation.
Vista is a not so popular OS project. XP is the most stable. 7 is the newest, no major fault now, but got lots of compatibility issues.

ALpine PXA-H800 Audio Processor - sneak preview Jan 2011 during CES2011.
http://underground.alpine-usa.com/pulse/122

Check out what this powerful processor can do:

• ImprintEQ, Alpine’s automatic sound tuning technology -- Using the supplied omni-directional microphone, measurements are taken from various locations in the car. The resulting data is used to automatically correct any in-car acoustical problems and then apply the desired target sound curve.

• AntEQ, which removes the factory head unit equalization, leaving a blank slate for these subsequent steps

• Road EQ, which automatically corrects for external noise in real time

• MediaXpander™ Plus, which improves the playback of compressed media and restores high-frequency audio data

• User Customization, which gives the user the option to customize the sound via manual or automatic settings – Using either the RUX-C800 controller (sold separately) or a PC with the included tuning software, manual, target curve and post process tuning can be made. The user can customize the sound traditionally by hand or automatically tune it to a desired response, while also allowing for full adjustment for fine tuning afterwards.

FEATURES:
ImprintEQ

With fully Manual Tuning built-in, same as F#1 Status and H701, tuning is done via the new RUX or the PC Software. Alpine’s automatic sound tuning technology — Using the supplied omni-directional microphone, measurements are taken from various locations in the car. The resulting data is used to automatically correct any in-car acoustical problems and then apply the desired target sound curve.

AntEQ
Removes the factory head unit equalization, leaving a blank slate for these subsequent steps

Road EQ
automatically corrects for external noise in real time

MediaXpander™ Plus
Improves the playback of compressed media and restores high-frequency audio data

User Customization
Gives the user the option to customize the sound via manual or automatic settings – Using either the RUX-C800 controller (sold separately) or a PC with the included tuning software, manual, target curve and post process tuning can be made. The user can customize the sound traditionally by hand or automatically tune it to a desired response, while also allowing for full adjustment for fine tuning afterwards.

EQ
31-Band graphic EQ/channel (sub 10- Band)
10-Band Parametric EQ/channel (sub 5- Band)

Input
6CH RCA or SPK Input – Up to 10V Input

Output
8CH Fully Active with 4V Output

Filters
Digital HP & LP filters with 36dB Slopes

DSP
2 x 32-Bit floating point SHARC DSPs

D/A
4 x Wolfson K-Rank 24-Bit Sigma-Delta D/A converters

MultiMedia
Dolby Digital & DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II
Bi-Phantom centerchanel function
Euphony-technology to simulate 5.1 from 2-channel sources

Mobile Media Stations
PXA-H800 works with all Alpine MMS units
But to be able to access all features a PC or UX-C800 need to be connected

Huge Signal-to-Noise Improvement
110 Digital / 105 Analog

RUX-C800

The separate RUX-C800 in-dash controller is required for programming and stand alone use with the PXA-H800 and provides a convenient way to adjust the PXA-H800’s settings from the dash. When used with an Alpine head unit, the RUX-C800 provides control over certain sound functions and sources.

Features:
BioLite-display with graphicinterface
Selectable color (Blue/red)
1DIN-installbrackets
The only unit TODAY that can control ALL functions on PXA-H800
*******************************
This H800 is expected to be released here sometime in Apr 2011.

Wolfson DAC! This is something that's worth considering if you have a alpine HU other than F1 of course.

I think Bit-1 is also using Wolfson as well.

No information about which Wolfson they're using inside though. If they're using the newer models of Wolfson then it's really good news.

See which one is used. http://www.wolfsonmicro.com/products/dacs/

I was told the SNR is 120 but the published number is 110 Digital / 105 Analog. That means it could only fall in the WM8728 to WM8742.

The US version will be using Wolfson 8742 * 4pcs. Not sure if there will be any changes in the Asia version. Cool
