Fathers day today....so started a long awaited project....make a smoker/bbq out of an old refrigerator. Tore out the interior....turns out the interior is a metal frame already so I will reuse it and mount racks within it. Bought a bag of high temp insulation to replace the old fibreglass insulation that was in the fridge. For the most part the interior will be the easiest due to the existing interior I can reuse.
As of yet I do not know what type of burner I will do...had thought of doing a stumps type burner. I may just do a firebox and insert it slightly as well. It is a work in progress...at least I started.

Anyone in Regina know where I can get a 12x12" steel tubing for the ash box. I have phoned the big steel suppliers but no small bits. I have almost exhausted my leads in Moose Jaw. I have all the rest of the 8x8 and 3x5 tubing ready for the chute and transfer tube.
I may have to get the welder to do a steel plate box...which ads up in $$ or beer...either way its going to cost me.
thanks |

I think you will be better off getting a box built as the 12" sq tube you are looking for will be very pricy, even if you can get it. Probably cheaper to get it built. |

might have to...but never know if someone has one laying around. The 8x8 here from my welder is about $16-18ft. I suspect the 12 x 12 to be about $25/ft.....still cheaper than paying my welder time and material. |
