So I call up Traeger Canada yesterday to see if I could purchase the hopper/auger assembly/motor/fan etc....guys says he can sell me the motor and fan separately, but they will not sell me the hopper and auger assembly with controller without first sending my old one in to them.
I understand they are protecting their sales and their proprietary design, but I still don't agree with it. Even if I owned a Traeger I'd be a little put off by the whole "send in your faulty stuff before buying new stuff" deal especially if I am not trying to get warranty.
I will never buy a Traeger because of this.
Anyway, has anyone here been able to purchase these items from Traeger ?? |

Sounds like you weren't trying to buy one anyways, just the parts. |

Obviously, as my post already stated that. At this time I am just looking for parts.....doesn't mean I haven't considered it and might have in the future.
As a matter of fact I have looked at them several times.
Some other companies like Bradley actually encourage people to buy their puck feeders to install in your own smoker of choice. |

As a matter of fact I have a Bradley digital. LOL....heat up/recovery time is slow and has trouble holding temp in the winter. After one cook of ribs on the clone I can't see myself ever using the Bradley again. Not a real bad smoker, just no where near the stump IMO.
Could use the puck feeder in the clone....nah. |
