Hi Shinu,
Apart from vasai fort there are some good places in and around vasai for a family outing.
There are many resorts at arnala. Good and affordable.
I m sure u know they have a package deal. Breakfast, food etc etc
Some of them are Anand, Sealords ..... the best one that i was a regular at is CBeach..... its very nice.
If u just go to arnala then u have many options, there r many resorts with different amenities and rates.
There is also west plam beach resort at rangoan, madinaka.
Dont have telephone numbers for any of these but u can surely find them in the directory.
Cheers

I like Suruchi Baag beach during late afternoon time. Family place I would say compared to other beaches around Vasai.

There is this chincoti waterfall up in the mountains of tungareshwar. With monsoons approaching, it would be worth considering. I have been to that place decade ago so not sure how is it like now.

Vaibhav,
Thanks, can you tell me how to reach this Rangaon Resort. From Station. Thanx in advance
Dilip,
Suruchi Baag, where is it? Please elaborate.. I would like to get a direction kinda thing.

I am going to Tungareshwar once the monsoon kicks in for a shoot. Will post some of the pics at my blog later.

BTW, anyone have a detailed map of Vasai in digital form? I searched for it on google, but didn't find any

Shinu,
Just drive down to Parnaka Vasai and beyond Janaki cineplex. Keep going until you hit dead-end. Ask for directions thru way if your driving.

Or you can ask AutoRickshaw to drive you to Suruchi Baug beach front. Just 10 mins from Parnaka Bustop.

Dilip.

Dilip,
Thx. I got it. I plan to go by my bike. It's a pain to go by rikshaw as I may stop many places to shoot!!

Shinu,

Try West Palm Beach. It's great for families (COUPLES NOT ALLOWED OVER HERE EVEN IF YOU ARE MARRIED).

My colleagues from Mumbai and I went there and it was fantastic. Even I was not aware till someone suggested this place to me.

You can see their hoardings along the bridge connecting Vasai West and East.

Barely 10 mins by rick from the station. The resort has everything you need including a swimming pool.

The price is reasonable too.

Just heard the news that 3 Picnic Goers drowned at Chinchoti Waterfall on saturday evening. This kind of casualty at Chinchoti is quite common just as Aksa beach tragedies. Hope that picnic goers take care while enjoying themselves in dangerous waterfall especially during active monsoon season.

Oh Man! It is disheartening to see that even after all these tragedies, the public is ignorant about the underlying dangers and jump into it. What make them ignore the safety measures?

Unfortunately, for most of us security is a big joke. Our attitude toward it can best be described as callous. I have seen commuters checking the places under the seats in locals with mock horror. They even manage to crack jokes about it. All this after the recent blasts.

We Indians do not attach much value to life I guess.
