Hi I Passed in 1987 so you must be in 8th std. when I was in 10th I think that was the last time we won the interschool sports trophy.
Actuly I was invited by St Anthony's convent school Sister Rose to train their students as they performed very badly in the school sports & I trained a group. I took this team to the state level meet in Thane where I myself participated in High Jump & beat the Champion of Junior nations of India with an very crude technique which we used in our school ie Sesissors style. This got me a seat in Sports Authority of India (SAI) training camp. from where I got my professional training
After that I selected a few good sports students from the various training camps which I conducted in Vasai. & the crosscountry race in Papdy & with the help of some influence got them seat in Sports Authority of India.
Anand Menazes is one of my student who made it up to the Olympics in the 4 X 100 Mens Relays race & he performed well in the 200M & 100M race in Jr nationals he got a Job In the Indian railwaya after that.
One of the other Guy was Maxson Furtado who did well in the Discuss Through event & Javelin he made it till the Nationals.
I remenber miss Neeta from manikpur who is no more with us now She was an excellent long jumper from St Anthonys school she got a place in the state level meets but she had an accident (she fel down from the trace & after that her lower part from the hip was dissabeled. she later died of the same injury. I feel very sorry for her & her family.
I have also lost Rulesh Dabre who had just started to training under me but again died suddenly due to brain hammerage.
But still I see lot of hope & potential in the Vasai Boys & Girls & will be ready to help any new Athelets who would like to know or use the knowledge I have gained during my sports career. |

Thank you Amit, Max, Admin & all of you for your intrest in Athletics,
I think it is time to develop some serious Sports people in Vasai than wasting out talented youth of Vasai in Fights.
I have been Living in Sports hostel for a long time & one of the good things I have learned there is how to stay united & support each other as we are most of the time away from our family.
but when I come back to vasai I find that there are different Groups all over vasai & they sort of keep dividing over the entire region.
I tried an experiment by organising Football Tournament by forming a group called United Youths of Vasai a few years ago in Holi & we worked with Youths from Holi & mulgaon & since it was a team Effort till Today these two Groups are still friends & are helpful to each other. My plan was to organise such tournaments in manipur & othere areas of vasai so that people will introduce each other & have friends in various regions in Vasai.
I think it is important to make it very clear to the crowd the perpose of the Tournament is to unite people & that what you do on ground stays inside the football ground out side you should be one solid Sports men from Vasai. It does not have to be Football It can be cricket ,or any other game.
This will bring a wide spectrum of opourtunites to every one in various fields.
it is not that I have not been a saint in my youth infact I have done all the things every youth does at that particular phase when he wants to show his Strength but soon learned from my coach Mr Santosh vargeese that the real strength lies in using this strength for your Loved ones & Friends.
& to do this there is no better platform than Sports.
I whish I was in Vasai but I am sure I will come back some day & finish this experiment for a wonderful youth of tommorrow.
so guys lets share our skills by interacting with the youngsters like this young lad Vinay Patil & hope to see some talented people not people Filled with hate & anger in Vasai.
Regards Lee.

Now shuttling between the Middle East and India, Wonder if there are members in this circle who I can get touch with and who I know or Vice versa, If I could be of any help to any of the members, Let me know, It would be pleasure to do something if possible for any vasaikar.
