Hello Friends,
I used to live in Din Dayal Nagar. At that time the power situation was very bad and we used to lose power on Fridays for about 6-7 hrs. I left in 1998 and when I would return occassionaly was gladdened to see wide roads.
However, lately a couple of my friends have said that the area I used to live in has deteriorated and is no longer considered a good area. How is the power and water situation there? Also is it true that a bad crowd is moving into that area?

Hi salilsurendran,

The power situation in Vasai has only worsen over these years. In 1998, as you said there used to be power cut of 6-7 hours on Fridays but now we are facing 6-7 hours of power cut every day of week and not just Fridays! This is a condition of Vasai while it has grown to become a Maha-nagarpalika recently. Not just power, but traffic, roads, polution, water logging in monsoon, crimes like thefts and burglary have all gone from nothing to worse in all these years. But yes, water supply situation is much better now and we see less water tankers on road than earlier. A silver lining to otherwise grim scene.

How is the water situation getting any better? Has there been direct water supply? Is the crowd getting more metropolitan?

Water situation is much better now. Since last few years, we are having municipal water supply. But municipal water is not sufficient. Crowd has changed a lot. City is changing very fast. New shops and showrooms are now coming to vasai. But civic infrastructure is no keeping pace with the increase in population. In 1998, you may have never experienced traffic jams, but now every morning and evening there is huge traffic snarls at ambadi road, station, evershine city etc.
