In my opinion you should offer several different styles, although you shouldn't make the actual members sig banner available to the general populace, you should make a Support sig, like House Do'Urban did. ;) Just a thought.

...Grant, have you forgotten the Properties option? All you have to do is right-click, click Properties, and copy the image url...you can't make the guild banners "restricted"...
